Bringing the Beauty of Oldshoremore Beach to Life: The Role of a Camera Operator in Filming Chef Bruce Clyne Watson

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to cook salmon on a remote beach, surrounded by nothing but the sound of the waves and the smell of burning wood? Well, that's exactly what Chef Bruce Clyne Watson did as part of a production by Loch Duart, a Scottish seafood company.

I had the privilege of working as the camera operator and editor for this project, and let me tell you, it was an experience I'll never forget. The location, Oldshoremore beach in Scotland, was nothing short of breathtaking. With the fire pit set right by the waters' edge, the flames danced against the sandy beach and the blue sky, creating a truly magical scene.

The evening we filmed was perfect, despite the fact that it had rained heavily earlier in the day. We were blessed with clear skies and just the right amount of clouds to add visual interest to the footage.

As the camera operator, it was my job to capture a variety of different shots that would later be edited into the final video. I made sure to include wide shots of the beach and the fire, as well as close-ups of the salmon cooking and Chef Bruce Clyne Watson at work.

Once filming was complete working alongside Euan the director we began crafting the footage into a final video. One of the most challenging part was to keep the balance of showing the process of cooking and the beauty of the location. But in the end, the video turned out even better than I could have imagined. It truly captured the unique and special atmosphere of Oldshoremore beach.

This video was one of three produced for Loch Duart and it was by far the most visually stunning and evocative of the three. I am extremely proud of the work we did on this project and I believe it showcases the unique characteristics of Loch Duart and the beauty of Oldshoremore beach. If you haven't yet, check out the final product and let us know your thoughts.
