Camera Operator Scotland

In my recent role as a camera operator for Shape History, I had the privilege of working on a film for Shelter Scotland. The aim of the project was to raise awareness about the issue of homelessness, and I was responsible for capturing the footage that would bring the story to life.

The shoot took place in a school, where we had five different setups to capture the children's perspectives on how to tackle homelessness. Prior to the shoot, we conducted a recce of the location to identify the best areas for each setup and to plan the lighting. We used a range of lighting equipment, including the Aputure 600c as the key light, a Falcon Eyes panel overhead, and a 300d with a spotlight mount that cast a shadow onto the back wall. Our goal was to create a warm and inviting atmosphere to make the children feel comfortable and encourage them to share their thoughts and feelings.

On the day of the shoot, everything went smoothly, and the children were amazing. It was inspiring to hear their ideas on how to tackle homelessness, and I felt privileged to capture the magic of the moment. Throughout the shoot, I worked closely with the production team to ensure that we had a clear understanding of the creative brief and the story we wanted to tell.

Overall, working on this project was an incredibly rewarding experience. As part of a team dedicated to making a positive impact on society, I am proud to have played a small role in creating a film that will help to raise awareness of homelessness and encourage people to take action.
